The T54/55 is the Result of the further development of the T-44. The T-54/55 has a DT-10T100mm cannon and coaxialy mounted PKT MGs and a roof mounted DShK. The T-54/55 was succecced by the T-62 in 1961. The T-62 was directly developed from the T-54/55.

The T-54/55 has a crew of 4 and is very cramped inside. There are currently over 32 variants of the T-54/T-55 around the world. The main difference between the T-54 and T-55 is that the T-55 features an NBC protection system protecting it from Nuclear, Biological and chemical weapons and a better engine.
The DT-10T 100mm cannon was a powerful gun for its time but was outclast by the British and American 105mm guns later on.
