APS amphibious rifleEdit
The APS amphibious assault rifle was designed to fire accuratly underwater. It is one of the first rifles able to fire underwater and above water. It fires the 5.66x39mm MGST ammunition.
Because regular bullets cannot be fired at long range and accuretly underwater the APS required a different kind of ammunition that was hydrodynamic. Which resulted in a 5.45 cartridge being lenghtened and with a dart like projectile.
Although the ammunition is accurat at long range underwater its ability to fire out of water is the overall drawback of the weapon is that when the rifle is fired out of water its barrel life is greatly reduced. Also the Ammunition designed for underwater percision is extremely inaccurat above water.
